Terms of Service - TJStar Quizzy

1. Agreement to Terms

By accessing or using TJStar Quizzy ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you disagree with any part of these terms, you may not access the Service. These Terms apply to all users including visitors, registered users, and any other persons who access or use the Service.

2. Description of Service

TJStar Quizzy is an AI-powered quiz generation and collaborative academic learning platform that allows users to:

Generate quiz questions using Google Gemini AI from typed topics, text prompts, or uploaded documents
Create, edit, publish, and share quizzes with unique access codes
Track quiz participant performance and view detailed analytics
Join academic institutions, departments, and course levels (Community feature)
Participate in level-based real-time chat with peers
Access, upload, and share course reading materials
View and compete on leaderboards within your academic level
Purchase TJS Tokens and subscription plans to access premium features
Transfer tokens to other users (Gold plan only)
Take quizzes generated by others using access codes
Submit suggestions for new institutions, departments, and course content

3. User Accounts

When you create an account, you must provide accurate, complete, and current information. You are responsible for:

Maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials
All activities that occur under your account
Notifying us immediately at tjstaracademics54@gmail.com of any unauthorized access
Ensuring your account information remains up to date

We reserve the right to suspend or permanently terminate accounts that violate these Terms, engage in fraudulent activity, or abuse our systems.

4. TJS Tokens

TJStar Quizzy uses a token system (TJS Tokens) to power AI quiz generation:

Tokens are consumed each time you use the AI to generate quiz questions
The number of tokens consumed depends on the number of questions and question type selected
Tokens can be purchased directly or received as part of your monthly subscription plan
Subscription plan tokens roll over to the next month (Beta, Pro, Gold plans)
Free plan tokens reset monthly and do not roll over
Purchased tokens are non-refundable once they have been used
Unused purchased tokens do not expire unless your account is terminated
Token prices may be adjusted with reasonable advance notice to users
Token transfers between users are only available on the Gold plan

5. Subscription Plans

We offer four subscription tiers with the following features:

Free Plan (₦0/mo): 100 TJS Tokens/month (no rollover), max 3 quizzes/month, up to 10 participants per quiz, objective questions only, enroll in 1 institution (2 courses max), view-only access to Level Chat
Beta Plan (₦1,000/mo): 300 TJS Tokens with rollover, max 10 quizzes/month, up to 20 participants per quiz, document upload for AI generation, all courses in 1 department, 5 free messages per 24 hours in Level Chat, Leaderboard access
Pro Plan (₦2,000/mo): 700 TJS Tokens with rollover, max 15 quizzes (retained), up to 35 participants per quiz, upload own questions, all courses in all levels of 1 institution, 10 free messages per 24 hours in chat, ability to upload reading materials
Gold Plan (₦5,000/mo): 2,000 TJS Tokens with rollover, unlimited quizzes, up to 100 participants per quiz, all question types, unlimited institutions and courses, 20 free messages per 24 hours in chat, token transfer to peers

Subscriptions are billed monthly. Downgrading or cancelling a subscription takes effect at the end of the current billing period. We reserve the right to modify plan features and pricing with reasonable notice.

6. Payments and Refunds

All payments are processed through our payment gateway (Paystack). By making a purchase, you agree to:

Provide accurate billing information
Authorize us to charge the applicable fees
Subscription fees are non-refundable once a billing period has commenced
Token purchases are non-refundable once tokens have been consumed
In the event of a technical error resulting in an incorrect charge, contact us promptly for resolution

7. Acceptable Use Policy

You agree NOT to use the Service to:

Generate, upload, or share content that is illegal, harmful, defamatory, or offensive
Infringe on intellectual property, copyright, or trademark rights of others
Distribute malware, spam, or unsolicited communications through Level Chat
Attempt to gain unauthorized access to our systems, databases, or other users' accounts
Create multiple free accounts to circumvent plan limitations
Commercially resell or redistribute AI-generated quiz content without explicit authorization
Impersonate another person, institution, or entity
Use the platform for academic dishonesty in violation of your institution's policies
Harass, bully, or abuse other users in the Level Chat or any other community feature
Upload copyrighted reading materials without proper authorization

Violation of this policy may result in immediate account suspension or termination without refund.

8. Content Ownership and Licensing

Your Content: You retain full ownership of content you upload to the Service, including documents, reading materials, and manually created quiz questions. By uploading content, you grant TJStar Quizzy a non-exclusive license to process, display, and store it for the purpose of providing the Service.

AI-Generated Content: Quiz questions generated using our AI become your property, subject to these Terms and acceptable use policies.

Community Content: Messages posted in Level Chat and reading materials you share are visible to users in your enrolled level. You retain ownership but grant other enrolled users a non-commercial license to view and use such materials for educational purposes.

Our Content: The platform, its design, branding, and underlying technology remain the exclusive property of TJStar Quizzy / TJStar Developers.

9. AI-Generated Content Disclaimer

Our AI quiz generation uses Google's Gemini AI. While we strive for accuracy and quality:

AI-generated content may contain factual errors, inaccuracies, or biases
Users are solely responsible for reviewing and verifying all generated questions before publishing
We are not liable for incorrect, misleading, or inappropriate information in AI-generated content
Quiz creators bear full responsibility for the content of quizzes they publish and share

10. Community Features

When using our Community features (institution enrollment, level chat, leaderboards, reading materials), you agree that:

Your username and quiz performance may be visible to other users in your enrolled level
Messages you post in Level Chat are visible to all users enrolled in that level
Reading materials you upload may be accessed by other enrolled students
Your leaderboard ranking and scores may be displayed to peers in your level
You will conduct yourself respectfully and constructively in all community spaces

11. Privacy

Your use of the Service is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference. Please review it to understand how we collect, use, and protect your information.

12. Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account at our discretion if we determine you have violated these Terms or engaged in fraudulent, abusive, or harmful conduct. Upon termination:

Your access to the Service will be immediately revoked
Unused subscription time and tokens are non-refundable
Your data may be retained for a period as required by applicable law

13. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, TJStar Quizzy shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service, including but not limited to loss of data, loss of revenue, or service interruption. Our total liability for any claim arising from use of the Service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 30 days preceding the claim.

14. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. Any disputes arising from or relating to these Terms shall be resolved through negotiation in good faith, and if unresolved, through arbitration in Nigeria.

15. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. We will notify users of significant changes via email or a prominent in-platform notice. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
